Our Leadership Team

Bill Guthrie

Bill is the founding Director of Glenesk. He has over 20 years experience delivering transformation across sectors and has previously worked for leading Public and Private Sector Organisations, including practice leadership roles at Newton Europe Ltd. He specialises in the delivery of complex change that spans data, systems, process and people. He holds an Executive MBA from Henley Business School and a Masters Degree in Economics from the University of Dundee.

Sarah Castor-Perry

Sarah is an experienced programme manager, consultant and trained coach. She has 8 years of experience delivering and managing complex transformation programmes, from public and private sector service improvement to leadership development and culture change. Her work has delivered multiple millions in savings for clients, enhanced care outcomes for vulnerable people, and improved C-suite and wider team dynamics and working practices. She is the internal lead for People and Change, responsible for the development of Glenesk’s innovative approach to organisational and cultural change, as well as heading up our internal people strategy, ensuring Glenesk offers an excellent employee experience to allow us to continue to deliver great work for clients.

Emma Hall

Emma has 4 years’ experience delivering and managing change across multiple sectors. Her work has transformed financial visibility and management of large private sector organisations, and visibility and strategic commissioning of future care requirements for local government. She has improved processes and SLA adherence for public sector and large maritime build teams, saving clients millions. She is the internal lead on Operational Excellence, ensuring Glenesk continues to offer innovative solutions to clients (including AI-assisted diagnostics and process automation), as well as being responsible for maintaining robust and effective internal business practices.

Tom Wheeler

Tom has 5 years of change management, portfolio and programme delivery experience, delivering and leading change across public and private sector operations and supply chain functions. His work has ranged from improving risk management for a large private sector organisation to improving services for vulnerable young people, delivering millions in savings and reduced cost exposure. He is the internal lead on Marketing and Business Development, responsible for designing the approach and ongoing monitoring of outward-facing activity, allowing Glenesk to continue to engage effectively with the markets we serve.

Our Senior Advisors

Charles qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and has held leadership roles in the legal services sector since 2005, Executive roles since 2010 and Board positions since 2014.

In 2017 Charles established his own business typically working with mid-market companies with £10m to £250m revenues, providing advisory services as a Chairman, Non-Executive Director, Strategic Advisor, consultant and mentor to Boards, Executive teams and investors.

Charles was appointed as a Senior Advisor to Glenesk in March 2021 and is working closely with the Glenesk team to shape and deliver a unique transformation and change proposition for the legal and connected sectors, helping organisations address the challenges and opportunities afforded by a rapidly evolving legal services sector and the future needs and requirements of customers, regulators and the UK government.

Outside of work, Charles’ interests are spending time with his family and friends, undertaking ultra-endurance sports, reading and travelling – when permitted!

Charles Layfield
David Walsh

David is an experienced consulting leader, with over 30 years heading a number of highly successful Performance Improvement, Strategy and M&A practices. More recently David has turned his attention to supporting boutique consulting firms and he now works with Glenesk’s leadership team on the development and execution of its growth strategy.

Prior to this, David held senior leadership positions in PwC, Deloitte, Newton Europe and Unipart Consulting and also personally advised the Boards of a number of global high-profile firms on their operational transformation. In addition, David founded one of Eastern Europe’s leading marketing services practices and co-led Coca-Cola HBC’s entry into key Eastern markets.
